Amitabh Bachchan to immortalize his voice through collaboration with Amazon Alexa
On Monday, Amazon Alexa announced a partnership with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan which would ensure a unique voice experience for Indian Alexa users.
Amazon Alexa team will now closely work with Bachchan to capture his voice and to understand nuances so as to create a sublime and seamless experience for Alexa users all over the nation.
Alexa will offer the same features like jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice and much more, but the only difference now will be that you get to choose Mr Bachchan’s voice to do all that.
The company officially stated that Big B’s voice would be available on devices next year.
Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa Amazon India stated, “Bachchan’s voice is truly memorable for any Indian who has grown-up with Bollywood. This combination delivers a perfect pitch to further delight and simplify the lives of our customers.”
This move does not come as a shocker as there are various Hollywood actors who have lent their voice to the smart speaker system, the likes of whom include Samuel L. Jackson. This would, however, be the first time that the Indian Alexa will get the voice of a Bollywood celebrity.
“Technology has always given me an opportunity to adapt to new forms. Be it in movies, TV shows, podcasts, and now, I am excited to create this voice experience in partnership with Amazon and Alexa. With voice technology, we are building something to engage more effectively with my audience and well-wishers,” said Mr. Bachchan on having joined the Alexa voice bandwagon. In the near future, several third-party devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, and headphones will also come with Alexa built-in.
