Ranbir Kapoor’s Cinematic Extravaganza ‘Animal’ Predicted to Cross ₹100 Crore Milestone in Opening Weekend

As the highly anticipated premiere of Ranbir Kapoor’s film “Animal” approaches, industry experts and trade analysts are forecasting a colossal opening for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial. With the film scheduled to release on December 1, 2023, the buzz around its potential box office performance is reaching a crescendo.

Exhibitor and industry expert Vishek Chauhan projects a staggering opening day collection of ₹40 crore for “Animal.” Citing Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s knack for portraying complex male characters that resonate with the youth, Vishek believes the film’s bold and rebellious themes will strike a chord with audiences. Producer Girish Johar echoes these sentiments, estimating a global opening weekend gross between ₹90 and 100 crore.

Girish Johar, a producer and industry insider, concurs with Vishek’s projections, estimating a global opening weekend gross ranging between ₹90 and 100 crore. He anticipates a blazing start for the film, even with its non-holiday release, long duration, and an A certification from the censor board. Girish notes that Ranbir Kapoor has a proven track record of delivering high box office figures for non-holiday releases, a unique advantage that sets him apart in the industry.

Vishek expresses confidence, stating, “We are definitely looking at a ₹40 crore opening.” He anticipates a surge in collections over the weekend, projecting figures of ₹45 crore on Saturday and a potential ₹50 crore on Sunday. Even if the reports are conservative, “Animal” has the potential to gross between ₹100 and ₹110 crore in its opening weekend. Girish adds, “Ranbir Kapoor has an extended tradition of obtaining a high box office start for his films despite non-holiday releases. That is a significant advantage he possesses throughout India.”

Girish predicts a global gross of ₹90-100 crore on the first day, emphasizing the film’s unconventional yet conventional appeal. The unique blend of commercial cinema, Ranbir Kapoor’s stellar performance, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s distinctive portrayal of characters are expected to be the driving forces behind the film’s success. Girish notes, “I wouldn’t take anything away from Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Sandeep Vanga, or even Rashmika or the music department, but Ranbir carries the film on his shoulders.

Girish emphasizes the film’s unconventional yet conventional appeal, attributing its uniqueness to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s distinct portrayal of characters. Ranbir Kapoor, in the lead role, is expected to carry the film on his shoulders, a sentiment echoed by industry insiders. Advance bookings for “Animal” are showing promising figures, with reports suggesting around ₹14 crore in pre-sales, surpassing some of the year’s biggest releases.

If these predictions materialize, “Animal” could rewrite records for Ranbir Kapoor, surpassing his previous highest opening score of ₹36 crore for “Brahmastra Part One.” The film’s unique blend of commercial cinema, coupled with the exploration of a father-son bond, is expected to resonate deeply with audiences.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, “Animal” boasts an ensemble cast featuring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ranbir Kapoor. With its release in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—”Animal” is set to make a resounding entry into cinemas on December 1, 2023, promising a cinematic spectacle that will captivate audiences far and wide.
