Dharma Productions sacks Kartik Aaryan from Dostana 2, may shut its doors for him permanently.

This week, Kartik Aaryan has been making headlines for numerous reasons. Earlier, Kartik’s management circulated the news of him being finalized for Dharma Productions’ next film. The rumours also said that the film will be directed by Sharan Sharma and Tripti Dimri will be casted alongside Kartik. However as the speculations started to gain impetus, Karan Johar himself tweeted and denied any such cast.

Another controversy surrounding Kartik Aaryan is related to his upcoming film Dhamaka. Kartik Aaryan’s management team claimed that Netflix had purchased the rights of Dhamaka for ₹135 crores. However, according to the investigative reports, the rights were bought for a much lower price. Further, it was also understood that this erroneous news was deliberately spread to upscale the Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2 build-up.

Sources in Dharma Productions have disclosed that the film Dostana 2 has been the biggest contributor to Kartik’s brand value. However, insiders report that the actor has been constantly delaying the shoot for the film. Despite repeated calls from the production house, Kartik Aaryan’s agency was sluggish to provide the shooting dates of the actor. As a result, the management of Dharma Productions held several rounds of meetings regarding this matter and then finally decided to ax Kartik Aaryan from Dostana 2. Moreover, reliable sources inform that Dharma Productions has also decided that Kartik Aaryan will no longer be cast in any of their film in the future. Since Kartik Aryan’s latest film Love Aaj Kal flunked, questions have been raised regarding the actor’s box office credibility. There’s no denying that Kartik’s films like Luka Chuppi and PatiPatni Aur Woh have managed to achieve a fair amount of success at the box office but a super-hit film, which ensures his box-office credibility, is yet to be delivered by him.
