Ayushmann Khurrana impressed the audience with his flick “Dream Girl” about four years ago while adopting the role of Pooja, earning an astonishing box office collection of Rs 200 crore.
Following the film’s remarkable success, the actor began work on the sequel in 2022. The team set a July 2023 release date at the time. However, according to the actor’s most recent post, the film’s release date has been moved out to August 25th, 2023.
Ayushman announced the revised date on Instagram on Monday morning. The cause for the wait is claimed to be heavy VFX work. The film has Ayushmann in two roles: Pooja and Karam, and the production is working hard to ensure that he seems as authentic and believable as Pooja.
Ekta Kapoor, Joint Managing Director – Balaji Telefilms Limited, commented on the decision by saying, “We want Ayushmann Khurrana’s character, Pooja, to look perfect in Dream Girl 2, so we’re spending extra time perfecting the VFX work for the face. We want to make sure that our viewers have the best experience possible when they watch the film. Dream Girl 2’s VFX work is a crucial part of the film, therefore we want to make sure we provide spectators a high-quality result.”
Ayushmann will star alongside Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2, with Raaj Shaandilyaa returning to direct.
