Emraan Hashmi – Amitabh Bachchan’s Chehre to take the OTT route? Here’s what producer Anand Pandit has to say [Exclusive]

Chehre: Producer Anand Pandit talks about business in the pandemic and will he take the OTT route for his film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi

When the trailer of Chehre came out, fans loved what they saw in the sneak peek. Everyone went gaga over the characters of Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie was scheduled to release in April but the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic played havoc with their plans. Will the film also go the OTT route. This is what producer Anand Pandit has to say. He told BollywoodLife, “The trailer got a great response from the audience. We were disheartened when we could not release the film due to the second wave. It is a theatrical release that we are looking at. It is a movie for the big screen. Also, we need to support cinema hall owners and distributors. They keep the industry going and garner employment. Hopefully, we will release it in the second half of the year.”

His other film The Big Bull did good business on the digital streaming platform. Is OTT really profitable for producers? “Honestly, the situation is such that profits are the last thing on our mind. We are more concerned about how we will overcome this phase. Yes, producers are releasing films on OTT as business needs to move on, but no one can talk of profits,” he says. The producer also has a couple of big films lined up. One of them is with Thank God! with Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh. Its shoot had to be stopped due to the pandemic. “We don’t know when can we resume again. It is an engaging entertaining script with a social message. When Ajay Devgn and Inder Kumar team up there is always dhamaal,” he signs off.
