Bollywood Film “Article 370” Not Banned in Gulf Countries, Says Source

Recent reports claiming that the Bollywood film “Article 370” had been banned in Gulf countries have been refuted by reliable sources, which assert that the film is currently awaiting certification in specific Gulf nations. This clarification contradicts earlier statements suggesting a ban on the film in the Gulf region. “Article 370,” a politically charged action drama, features Yami Gautam in the lead role and is directed by National Award winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

Released on February 23, the film delves into the significant revocation of Article 370, which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Contrary to initial reservations about its reception due to the sensitive subject matter, Yami Gautam, who portrays intelligence officer Zooni Haksar, expressed confidence in the film’s resonance with the audience.

Yami Gautam revealed that they were initially cautioned about the film’s potential challenges at the box office, given the nature of its subject. However, she emphasized that the team maintained faith in the project, believing that it would connect with viewers. Messages of congratulations received by the actor have often praised the film for its appeal to the youth and its avoidance of propaganda.

While discussions about the film have sparked diverse opinions, there has been notable praise for the performances, the storytelling approach, and the portrayal of real-life events surrounding the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, “Article 370” also features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in pivotal roles. The film aims to depict the struggles of real-life individuals who played key roles in the events leading to the abrogation of Article 370.

The film’s positive reception has defied expectations, with viewers appreciating its portrayal of historical events and the dedicated efforts of those involved. Yami Gautam’s husband, Aditya Dhar, expressed gratitude for the unexpected success and the love the film has received from audiences. The film continues its theatrical run, exceeding initial expectations and resonating with viewers.
