Remo D’Souza to make a biopic on Saroj Khan’s life calls it his ‘Dream project’

Recently, Bollywood lost yet another of its gem – the legendary choreographer, Saroj Khan. In a long list of stars Bollywood has lost lately, including gems like Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, Saroj Khan was the embodiment of Bollywood’s grace and finesse and showed on screen. 

The industry deeply mourned her loss and the dance fraternity even more so. The world came to know about Saroj Khan’s demise on the 3rd of July and since then ardent fans have not stopped posting reminiscent memories of the dancing legend. Affectionately known as Masterji, Saroj Khan left a legacy behind which stands unmatched and unparalleled – it remains to be that unshakeable pillar that Bollywood was built on.

Biopic on the Legend

To commemorate and celebrate the life of the legend Saroj Khan, her daughter Sukaina revealed that there were talks about a Biopic for a while and that choreographer Remo D’Souza was likely to take on the project.

Remo revealed that there were talks about the project spotlighting Masterji’s life. He said, “The last conversation took place before the lockdown. Sarojji came to my office to talk about it. While shooting the song titled Tabah Ho Gaye with actress Madhuri Dixit Nene, when we would be together for hours every day, I told Sarojji that her life is inspiring and that a woman-oriented film can be made on her journey. On hearing this, she readily agreed and had said, “Bilkul, bol kab banayega. Jaldi bana de”

Cautioning audiences to not get their hopes up too high, he added,” Till now I have not said anything officially on this, but this is my dream project.”
