Sunny Leone approaches Kerala High Court for bail in a fraud case, know the inside details here

On Tuesday, Bollywood actress Sunny Leone approached the Kerala High Court to seek anticipatory bail in a fraud case filed against her by a program management company. The company has alleged in its complaint that after accepting payment of Rs 29 lakh, Sunny didn’t attend the company’s ‘Valentine’s Day’ program and she relocated to New Delhi. The petition is likely to be heard on 10th February.

The petitioners- Sunny Leone aka Karanjit Kaur Vohra and husband Daniel Weber have stated in the application that they are innocent and ready to co-operate in the investigation and thus no criminal case can be filed against them. The petitioners have also stated that “if they are arrested and taken into remand, they will suffer irreparable damage”. Earlier on 3rd February, Sunny was questioned by officials of the Kochi Crime Branch in Thiruvananthapuram.

Sunny Leone claimed that she realized an FIR has been registered against her under sections 406 and 420 of IPC only after the questioning of the Crime Branch. The petitioners stated that they have fully co-operated with the authorities and made them aware of all the facts and circumstances. The petitioners further stated that they have also handed over the transaction documents between them and the complainant.

It has also been said that the plaintiff, Shiaz, has proposed Rs 2 crore as compensation. The event organizers said that Sunny did not appear for the event and she wrongfully claimed about coming twice and the event didn’t take place. To this, the organizers explained that though the event had to be postponed several times, the event was finally scheduled to be held at the Adlux International Convention Center in Angamaly, near Kochi. Sunny reportedly replied that the event was rescheduled numerous times by the event organizers and a balance of Rs 12 lakh is yet remaining.
