Anupama 20th December 2023 Written Update: Devika surprises Anupama

The episode begins with a time leap of five years. A guy carrying a bag arrives at a house and calls out to someone. The person inside the house takes the vegetables the guy bought and gives him money. The guy asks the person to cook more chocolate so he can give it to an elderly man in an old age home whose birthday it is. The person inside the house closes the door. The guy reflects on how he has never seen the person’s face in all these years and leaves.

Meanwhile, Leela plays with Ansh while Vanraj is busy on a phone call. Dimpy arrives with tea and Leela troubles her. Dimpy’s husband advises her, but she scolds Ansh for not doing his homework and tells him to get ready for school. Ansh refuses, and both Leela and Vanraj take his side and silence Dimpy. This upsets Vanraj’s father, who feels that the family has failed to respect their daughter-in-law since Anupama’s time. Vanraj informs Kavya and Dimpy about a business meeting and instructs them to make the necessary arrangements. His father suggests inviting Anupama, but Vanraj and Leela refuse, stating that they have cut all ties with her. Leela adds that Anupama never disclosed her whereabouts or checked up on them, so they don’t need to give her any importance.

Meanwhile, Anupama cleans the house and performs the puja. She then records a cooking video for her YouTube channel, called ‘Joshi Behen,’ while hiding her face. She hears a knocking sound at the door and gets worried about who it might be. It turns out to be Devika, and Anupama feels relieved. She opens the door and lets Devika in. Devika is surprised to see the momentum that Anupama has received from her YouTube channel. She tells Anupama that her channel has ten lakh followers, but Anupama brushes it off as not a big deal, which shocks Devika. Devika informs Anupama that her cooking has impressed many hotel chefs. She questions Anupama about not having a mirror in her house and not leaving the house for the past five years. Anupama explains that she doesn’t feel the need to do so. Devika gets upset with her for mourning her divorce with Anuj for the last five years and neglecting herself.

Devika presents Anupama with an offer letter from a US hotel, along with her VISA and ticket. She encourages Anupama to move to the US and start living her life. Anupama refuses, but Devika orders her to accept the job offer, pack her things, and leave for the US. Anupama looks on.

Meanwhile, Vanya spoils both Leela and Ansh with gifts, which upsets Dimpy, Kavya, and Vanraj’s father. Dimpy and Kavya decide not to go against Vanraj so they can be with their child. Devika meets Vanraj’s father and explains Anupama’s situation to him. He assures her that Anupama will accept the job offer. In the meantime, Anupama is seen opening the window of her house.

In the precap, Anupama gets ready to leave for the US. She meets a co-passenger who shows her cooking video and praises her skills without realizing that Anupama is the owner of the channel. Anupama feels happy.
