Shahid Kapoor, The Star of Farzi, Rejected These 7 Big Films

Shahid Kapoor, is a well-known Bollywood actor. The dashing hottie began his career by appearing in the music video for Ankhon me Tera hi Chehra. He later appeared in Taal and Dil Toh Pagal Hai as a background dancer. In 2003, the actor received a break with the film Ishq Vishk, which went on to become a success. He continued to solidify his career with roles in films like Vivah, Jab We Met, Kabir Singh, and others. For the web series Farzi on Amazon Prime Video, he most recently worked with Raj & DK, the duo behind The Family Man. We've compiled a list of films that Shahid Kapoor declined, some of which went on to become box office smashes. 1. Bang Bang First up, we have Bang Bang, the action-packed spy thriller starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. Shahid Kapoor was initially offered the role of Katrina's co-star, but he turned it down in favour of the critically acclaimed Haider. And while Haider did win numerous awards and critical acclaim, we can't help but wonder what it would have been like to see Shahid and Katrina share the screen in this high-octane film. 2. Raanjhnaa Next on the list is Raanjhanaa, the heartwarming romance starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor. Shahid Kapoor was actually offered the lead role in this movie, but he declined it. While Dhanush did an excellent job in the film, we can't help but imagine how Shahid would have brought his signature charm and charisma to this iconic role. 3. Rockstar Now let's talk about Rockstar Ranbir Kapoor. Can you imagine anyone else playing the lead role in Imtiaz Ali's musical hit? Well, guess what? Imtiaz Ali, the director of Farzi, actually offered Shahid not one but two roles in his movies. He had to make a tough decision but ultimately chose Jab We Met, which we all know went on to become a cult classic. But we can't help but wonder what it would have been like if he had taken the role of Jordan in Rockstar, which launched Ranbir Kapoor's career to new heights. 4. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein Moving on to Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Shahid Kapoor was initially offered the lead role alongside Kareena Kapoor once again. But for some reason, Shahid declined the offer, and Imran Khan stepped in to take his place. We'll never know what would have happened if Shahid had said yes, but one thing's for sure, Imran Khan did a pretty good job in the end. 5. Shudh Desi Romance Did you know that Shahid Kapoor almost starred in the hit Bollywood movie, Shudh Desi Romance? But he declined the offer, and Yash Raj Films had to find someone else. So they picked the talented Sushant Singh Rajput to take on the lead role. And the rest is history! 6. Rang De Basanti But the biggest missed opportunity of all has to be Rang De Basanti. Shahid revealed on Neha Dhupia's talk show that he regrets not taking on the role of Siddharth in the cult classic. He even admitted to shedding a few tears while reading the script. Can you imagine how different the film would have been with Shahid in the lead? 7. Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara And finally, let's talk about the gangster drama that Shahid Kapoor said no to. The actor was the first choice of the producers to star alongside Akshay Kumar, but he declined the role. Aslam Siddiqui's character was later taken on by Imran Khan. Well, there you have it, folks. Shahid Kapoor might have missed out on some major roles, but he's still managed to carve out a successful career in Bollywood. Who knows, maybe these missed opportunities were meant to be, and we wouldn't have the iconic films that we know and love today if things had gone differently.
