Heer Aasmani: Fighter’s Latest Song Pays Tribute to Air Force Pilots
The eagerly awaited aerial action film, Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, continues to build excitement with the release of its latest song, “Heer Aasmani.” Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, alongside Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Anil Kapoor in the ensemble cast, the song is a heartfelt tribute to the indomitable spirit of Air Force pilots.
“Heer Aasmani” features Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone dressed in authentic Air Force uniforms, capturing the essence of their characters preparing for takeoff. The song provides a glimpse into the bond shared by Hrithik, Deepika, Karan, and Akshay, showcasing both their camaraderie during leisure moments and their dedication during training and briefings. Anil Kapoor is portrayed in a more solemn tone, imparting instructions to the team. Sung by B Praak, the song’s poignant lyrics were penned by Kumaar, while the musical composition is credited to Vishal-Shekhar.
Director Siddharth Anand shared insights into the song’s theme, stating, “Heer Aasmani is a song dedicated to the exceptional team of Air Dragons who have come together. The song shows the camaraderie among the crew throughout training and briefings as well as during leisure. Heer Aasmani’s core theme is an air force pilot expressing their unwavering passion and love for the skies—a love so pure that it is nearly incomprehensible to anyone on the ground.”
Anand further elaborated on the song’s unique musical arrangement, stating, “Heer Aasmani has a distinctive flavour. My idea for the song was to create a modern-sounding arrangement with a rustic singing style. The song came together wonderfully, featuring a catchy guitar riff and soulful vocals by B Praak. The end result is an unexpected synergy of musical forms coming together in a soulful rendition.”
Fighter, distributed by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures, promises intense action sequences and was shot predominantly on Indian air bases, using real Sukhoi Indian fighter planes. The film’s official teaser, recently released and well-received, showcased Hrithik as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, Deepika as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, and Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh. Karan Singh Grover’s character was not revealed in the teaser.
Mostly shot on Indian air bases with real Sukhoi Indian fighter planes, “Fighter” promises a visual spectacle. The film is set to release in theatres on January 25, offering audiences a thrilling cinematic experience.
