Jailer Advance Booking: Rajinikanth’s Starrer Surpasses Gadar 2 and OMG 2, Check the Latest Numbers

Since the teaser release earlier this month, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film “Jailer” has been creating quite a buzz. As of Monday, the movie has already sold over 612,000 tickets through the online ticketing platform BookMyShow. Impressively, the film sold approximately 85.53k tickets on Saturday, 233.15k tickets on Sunday, and a whopping 293.33k tickets on Monday alone, as reported by film industry analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

The excitement surrounding the movie has also translated into record-breaking advance ticket sales for its premiere in the United States. By Monday, “Jailer” had raked in around $664,000 worth of advance ticket sales, surpassing the director Nelson Dilipkumar’s previous production “Beast,” which grossed over $658,000 in ticket sales and starred Thalapathy Vijay and Pooja Hegde.

Interestingly, “Jailer” has emerged as one of the most highly anticipated films in the Singaporean market, trailing behind only Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.”  Additionally, it is among the top five most highly awaited Tamil films in the North American market.

Up to this point, “Jailer” has amassed ticket sales exceeding $828,000 (about Rs 6.86 crore). This accomplishment places it alongside Rajinikanth’s other successful films, such as “Kabali” ($1.92 million or Rs 15.89 crore), Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan” ($1.03 million or Rs 8.52 crore), “2.0” ($982,000 or Rs 8.12 crore), starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, and “Ponniyin Selvan 2” ($737,000 or Rs 6.09 crore), starring Chiyaan Vikram and Aishwarya Rai.

Notably, “Jailer” screenings in Bengaluru offer ticket prices ranging from Rs 800 to Rs 1,400, with showtimes even starting as early as 6 AM on August 10. The film’s protagonist is Muthuvel Pandian, a jailer known for his strict yet compassionate approach. When he discovers a gang’s plot to free their leader from prison, Pandian embarks on a mission to counter their intentions.

The movie features a star-studded cast including Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Rajinikanth in pivotal roles. The worldwide theatrical release of “Jailer” is scheduled for August 10, one day before the releases of Chiranjeevi’s “Bholaa Shankar,” “OMG 2,” and Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2.”
