Don 3 First Look: Farhan Akhtar Introduces Ranveer Singh as the Next-Gen Don

“Don 3” has taken Twitter(X) by storm, becoming one of the most talked-about films in the past two years. The much-awaited reveal of Ranveer Singh as the new Don in “Don 3” was unveiled by Farhan Akhtar recently. The teaser image shows Ranveer Singh seated at a table, his back turned to the camera, donning a hoodie.

As the promo unfolds, Ranveer’s face as Don is revealed, accompanied by the iconic line, “Don Ko Ghayarah Mulkon Ki Police.” Sporting shades and a leather jacket, Ranveer looks incredibly striking. While some die-hard fans of Shah Rukh Khan are expressing their dissatisfaction, others are willing to give Ranveer a chance to prove himself in the role.

Following the title logo reveal on Tuesday, Farhan Akhtar shared a statement. He said, “Back in 1978, a character born from the genius minds of Salim-Javed and brought to life by the incomparable Amitabh Bachchan, managed to effortlessly grip the imagination of cinema-goers across our land. Don was that enigmatic character.”

He continued, “In 2006, Shah Rukh Khan reinvented and embodied Don with his own charismatic style. Shah Rukh flawlessly captured Don’s demeanour, from his wry humour to his composed yet menacing anger. Working with Shah Rukh on not one, but two ‘Don’ films was an incredible experience, and those memories hold a special place for me.

Farhan Akhtar then expressed his excitement to carry on the legacy with an actor whose talents he deeply admires. He said, “The time has come to continue Don’s legacy, and joining us on this exciting path is an actor whose skill and adaptability have long impressed me. We hope you’ll embrace him with the same warmth and support you’ve shown Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. 2025 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Don. Stay tuned.”

The teaser image was beautifully crafted, giving fans a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come. The film is set to hit screens in 2025. Fans are also eagerly anticipating Farhan Akhtar’s return to the director’s chair. Meanwhile, the status of “Jee Le Zara,” which was supposed to feature Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and Priyanka Chopra, seems uncertain. In the midst of some backlash targeting Ranveer Singh from those who couldn’t imagine anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan as Don, many fans have rallied behind Ranveer, especially given his rising star power post the success of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Despite the ongoing debate, it’s clear that the enthusiasm for “Don 3” is unwavering. The film’s release in 2025, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment, is eagerly awaited by both Ranveer Singh’s supporters and Shah Rukh Khan’s devoted fans.
