Dil Ka Telephone 2: Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday Dial Up the Magic Again in Dream Girl 2 Song!

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has dropped the song “Dil Ka Telephone 2” from his upcoming movie “Dream Girl 2.” This time, Ananya Panday takes on the role of Ayushmann’s love interest, replacing Nushrratt Bharuccha from the original. The song, much like the first instalment, revisits the iconic character of Pooja, Ayushmann’s well-known female alter ego.

“Dil Ka Telephone 2” portrays Pooja and her obsessed followers. The melody of the song remains unchanged, but Ayushman and Ananya Panday introduce a fresh hook step. The song features other notable actors including Abhishek Banerjee, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, and Manjot Singh.

While the original performers Meet Bros and Jonita Gandhi lend their voices to the song, Jubin Nautiyal is the recent addition, replacing Nakash Aziz from the 2019 original. The new lyrics are penned by Kumaar, with music composed by Meet Bros.

Ayushmann shared the song on Twitter, stating, “I’m searching for your love. #DilKaTelephone2 Song Out Now! #25AugustHogaMast #DreamGirl2 in Cinemas on 25th August.” The response to the song has been varied, with some praising Pooja’s character and the song itself, while others questioned the choice of Ananya Panday. Many also compared the new version to the original.

Speaking about the film, Ayushmann said, “Dream Girl was a blockbuster, and hence the sequel had a high bar to meet.  I’m thrilled that the Dream Girl 2 trailer has been tickling people’s funny bones. It’s giving the audience a sense that watching the film on the big screen will offer them hours of pure entertainment.

He added, “Dream Girl 2 is a movie that will make you laugh uncontrollably. We guarantee everyone will have a unique experience. I’m relieved that people are enjoying my portrayal of Pooja in the film! To play a character who masquerades as a girl and causes all the chaos was a big risk. I’m thrilled that people have taken a liking to my avatar. It’s immensely gratifying. Making people laugh is the toughest job, but I’m confident this film will have the audience in splits.”

“Dream Girl 2” is the sequel to Ayushmann’s highly successful film “Dream Girl,” released in 2019. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the sequel is produced by Ekta Kapoor and is set to hit theatres on August 25.
